介詞是虛詞，介詞不能單獨(dú)作句子成分，只能用在名詞、代詞或作用相當(dāng)于名詞的其他詞、詞組或從句之前，與之一起構(gòu)成介詞短語(yǔ)充當(dāng)句子成分。

Ⅰ.介詞的種類

(1)簡(jiǎn)單介詞

on，in，with，by，for，about等

(2)合成介詞

into，out of，as for，without

(3)短語(yǔ)介詞

by means of，because of，according to，in respect of，in contrast with，in spite of

(4)分詞介詞

including，concerning，considering，regarding，provided，given

Ⅱ.介詞短語(yǔ)

介詞短語(yǔ)是由介詞和構(gòu)成介詞短語(yǔ)的那部分名詞或相當(dāng)于名詞的其他詞或短語(yǔ)構(gòu)成的。本文|由職業(yè)培訓(xùn)教育網(wǎng)獨(dú)家整理。主要有下列幾種：

(1)介詞+名詞

Aluminum and zinc can easily combine with the oxygen in the air.

(2)介詞+代詞

How much luggage can I take with me?

(3)介詞+動(dòng)名詞

You learn to speak English by speaking it.

(4)介詞+數(shù)詞

Everything divides into two.

(5)介詞+另一個(gè)介詞短語(yǔ)

The air was removed from between the two pipes.

(6)介詞+形容詞或副詞

It is far from satisfactory.

We have made some progress，but it is far from enough.

The door suddenly opened from within.

(7)介詞十不定式

The airplane is about to take off.

(8)介詞十分詞

I consider the problem as settled.

Liquids are different from solids in that liquids have no definite shape.

Ⅲ.介詞的用法

(1)作狀語(yǔ)

According to molecular theory，all matter is made up of small particles called molecules.

(2)作定語(yǔ)

These are movies and videotapes in foreign languages.

Claims beyond the responsibilities of the suppliers can not be entertained.

(3)作表語(yǔ)

The result is beyond expectation.

(4)作主補(bǔ)和賓補(bǔ)

Petroleum is considered of great value.

A force may set the ball in motion.
